Types of shampoo and their uses

What's up naturals!           So in my last post, I mentioned something about clarifying shampoo. After reading it,  someone sent me a DM asking me if clarifying shampoo is the same with the normal shampoo she knows. Then I realized that I should have talked a little on it. My bad. So,  I decided to dedicate an entire post on tpes of shampoo we have. Or that I know of. If you were also wondering what a clarifying shampoo was, not to worry, I've got your back.          A shampoo is basically supposed to cleanse hair and strip it of its uncleanness. But added to that basic function, shampoos also have other functions added to them which will be highlighted below.          A clarifying shampoo is used when there is so much product buildup in your hair. So it should strictly be used when you have used so much products like gel. If it is used as a basic shampoo, it is very likely to strip your hair of its natural oils.          A medicated shampoo is one which I've seen a wh

Natural products only on natural hair? My thoughts

Hello my queens. I trust you had a delightful week I can't believe that it's almost the ending of January already. It seems like we said happy new year just a few days ago. How time flies. How awesome it would be for our hair to grow at the same rate at which time flies. But that is not so. It is said that hair grows at least half an inch every month. That means if you conserve all that hair for a year, you would be getting six inches length of hair. But that is not so. The bad guys always have to interfere. Bad guys like breakage, fall outs and single strand knots which I would talk about in detail in subsequent post. For this post guys I want us to share our thoughts on this issue. Does natural hair equal natural products only?             Natural hair is a term widely used as hair that is free from perming. True. Relaxers are chemicals. Double true. But in the course of our hair journey, do we have to limit ourselves to just natural ingredients? The common nat

Hair porosity: what it is and what it's not

What's up guys, have you guys noticed the weather lately?  It's been really cold and I practically wake up shivering and I've also been so lazy too. Whenever I arise from sleep, I most times go back to sleep and end up going late to class. Eish.        So, queens of Tiana's palace today's article is going to be on hair porosity. In getting to know our hair better,  I've put together a short article on hair porosity. Knowledge of hair porosity will help us understand how our hair behaves and responds to products, heat, water, climate change and products we use in our hair. WHAT IS POROSITY?         This is the state of being porous. That is having holes. It has been proven that our hair has tiny holes through which substances pass through that affect our hair either negatively or positively. Or perhaps neutrally. Lol. These tiny holes are present in our hair cuticles and they allow hair nutrients from the roots, water and other substances that help in

2018 hair journey : goals

New year, new resolutions.        Hello guys. You are most definitely welcome to my first blog post. Let me start off by saying HELLO 2018. This post is all about my hair goals for the year. I have a goal to achieve 5 inches to my hair. Yes. I am a natural already guys.  I started transitioning in 2016 after a huge hair loss. My hair was practically pulling off in large chunks. Was that bad. I couldn't shave all my hair off because the thought was just too extreme for me. So, I decided to let my hair do it's thing. I started wearing my hair in braids and weavons. Hello natural hair. I fully transitioned in 2017. Checking the length of my hair, it's a mere 3 inches. Geezer.  Talk about stunted growth. It's either I have bad hair genes or I have been neglecting my hair. I really want to believe that it's the latter. Oh sweet Jesus. So guys I want us to travel on this hair journey in 2018 together. The goal is to maintain healthy long hair. I promise to tell you guys
